Living as a Follower of Jesus

As a follower of Jesus you will want to grow in your ability to live in a lifestyle that pleases Jesus. Reading the Bible and studying it is the best way to grow in this process. A good place to start this process is by reading the book of Acts. The book of Acts was written by the apostle Luke and is a record of the history of the early Christian church. Although you will want to read the whole book, to begin with we will simply look at a few sections.

The followers of Jesus are called Christians.

ACTS 11:26.  Later in the book of Acts the followers of Jesus are called Christians.  In the Bible, the word meant "Christ's Person" or "Little Christ."  Today people who believe Jesus Christ is God's Son and follow His teachings are called Christians.  (What the Bible is All About for Young Explorers, Ventura, CA: Regal Books, 1986, p. 326)
