Mission
Statement:
Believing
that God has called each of us to reach out to our neighbor, we commit

Qualifications
Committee
members need to:

Be individuals of faith who live out the gracious and forgiving love
of God as shown to us in Jesus.
¨
Be tolerant of lifestyles and viewpoints different from their own,
and be excited about making discoveries about other people, their lives and
their worlds.
¨
Be creative in ways of ministry.
¨
Possess a positive attitude that sees opportunities and challenges
rather than problems.
¨
Desire to see others involved in and excited about "the mission
at our doorstep."
Responsibilities
•
To coordinate efforts at ___________ Lutheran Church to intentionally
reach out to the international student/family through events, activities and
personal ministry.
•
To plan a yearly agenda for activities with internationals.
•
To become involved in the ethnic/international community of _____________
University.
•
To offer encouragement to people who are already participating in
"Friendship Family" activities.
•
To creatively implement ideas for outreach to internationals.
•
To offer workshops/seminars that will help in equipping people to
reach out to the international community.
•
To integrate internationals into the ministry of our church, with
special attention to the worship settings.
•
To diligently seek to share a caring, verbal witness of Jesus as
Savior of all.
•
To share with other congregations and the district the excitement of
our congregation and its international student ministry.
Specifics
Ù
The term of membership on the committee is two years.
One-half of the committee is appointed each year; appointments are to
coincide with Council elections at _________ Lutheran Church.
Ù
The committee is made up of at least five members: two permanent
residents, two American students, and one international person.
Additional participants are always welcome.
Ù
The Pastor for
internationals is encouraged to attend meetings to offer support, advice and
other information as needed by the committee.
Ù
The committee shall meet no less than quarterly; a schedule for
monthly meetings is preferred.
One committee member is responsible to give a report on the status of
international ministry at each church council meeting.
