 Friendships, Relationships and Knowing Jesus
On Nov. 1, 2009, Mimo He was brought into the body of Christ through Holy Baptism at Peace Lutheran Campus Center, Stevens Point, WI. During the worship time, she shared her testimony of coming to faith, understanding forgiveness, and finding a wonderful family at Peace. Her testimony follows.

The first time I heard about Jesus was from one of my father’s friends. He was a catholic and he told me about the history of Christ. It attracted me and corrected some of my misunderstandings about Christ. I wanted to know more things about the history of Christ, the stories in the Bible, and the proverbs from Jesus. My father’s friend is a sincere Christian. He plays the flute for church and in his home has many crosses. My father’s friend helped me understand much about Jesus. But, I wanted to know more.

Now, I am in America. I thank God for letting me meet a lot of wonderful people here in Stevens Point. Perhaps I don’t know your name, but I remember your friendliness. That is very important to me since my family is very far away and sometimes it is easy to become lonely.

It is Luxi who led me here to Peace and gave me a chance to meet so many people. She shared some ideas about Jesus with me. She is my alarm to wake me up on Sunday mornings. It is PC (Pastor Carl Selle) who told me the meaning about Christianity and taught me the stories from Bible and patiently answered my questions.

Thanks to all of you to give me help for my baptism. It is you guys who leave an impression with me that: the person who believes in Jesus always has a kind heart, and if I want to be a nice person and help other people who are in need, I should also be a Christian. It is your love and care for me to make me want to be a family member with you.

I learned most about Jesus’ love for me when PC shared it with me so that I could understand God’s love completely. I know Jesus died for my sins, forgives me, and loves me now and always. I thank God that He let me meet you and join you today in God’s family.
